Innovation For Ethical & Sustainable Procurement
We do business differently. We don’t just supply incredible products from amazing purpose-led businesses with inspiring stories; we create them too! We create innovative world-first products, such as our range of plastic-free coffee, designed to have the lowest carbon footprint, and our jute shopper which we created to upcycle our waste bean sacks and provide skills training to prisoners. We work with our clients to create the perfect product that physically demonstrates their values and engages staff and customers with their message.

People
We are a community-based organisation that invests in people all over the UK. We help some of the most vulnerable people in our community - our unhoused friends, prison and care leavers and those caring for loved ones with dementia. We are there to lend a hand, help people back on their feet, and rebuild the confidence they have lost.
Planet
Our branches may be social, but our roots are green. Since 2004, when we set our first science-based targets, we’ve led the way in environmental responsibility. In 2005, we became the first office supplies company to achieve carbon neutrality. We banned chlorine from our supply chain in 2008, have been continually reviewing supply chain performance since 2010, and, since 2019, have removed over 8 million single-use plastics. We lead the way in making a positive impact.
Not-For-Profit
Ethstat is entirely not-for-profit, run by those who work for it and owned by the people who use it. Our mission is to make sustainable and socially responsible procurement straightforward for our customers. We reinvest 100% of our proceeds back into the business to support the most vulnerable members of our society.
Beyond Net Zero
We are committed to Net Zero and have been climate-positive since 2005. Ethstat was born out of the environmental movement of the late 1990s. Our science-based approach to sustainability meets today’s pressing issues and is informed by the world’s leading environmental researchers. While our business has grown, our footprint has become smaller. We aim to bring our organisation within the nine planetary boundaries by 2030. Our work has removed 2,063 tonnes of CO2 beyond neutrality, 8.8 million single-use plastics, and planted 27,125 trees.
