The Ethical Coffee for
People and Planet

Jamila’s Ethical Coffee was designed to be different. We created our coffee to have the best environmental specification, the lowest carbon footprint, the best for biodiversity and combating deforestation, and completely plastic-free. It had to be fair trade because you can’t be ethical and harm the producers or allow child labour. It had to taste amazing because our mum’s name is on it, AND it had to be priced to compete alongside the big brands. All profits support families coping with dementia. We are really proud of it – Mum would be too.

Every time you buy one of our Jamila’s range products, instant coffee, coffee beans, hot chocolate, and hampers, you contribute to our campaign to support families caring for loved ones with dementia. All our products from this range directly support people who are either living with dementia and, their carers.

We cared for our mum with dementia for 12 years, while our children were growing up, so we know how hard it can be on the whole family.

Saving Trees
Reducing Carbon

This is what a revolution looks like.

This is a picture of coffee being grown in a forest. There are no pesticides, no fertilisers or watering solutions, because the coffee bushes grow beside native plants and under native trees.

Our farmers work together with nature to produce the best organic coffee while ensuring we protect the rainforest and biodiversity. Our choices mean the coffee we produce has the lowest environmental footprint possible.

Jamilas-Coffee-Beans

Every part of our Jamila’s range is entirely plastic-free. From our world-first plastic-free, doorstep recyclable instant coffee range to our world-first compostable bean packaging.

There is growing evidence that microplastics could be contributing to the rise in dementia. Research published in Nature Magazine from the University of New Mexico shows that the average person has between 5 and 7 grams of microplastics in their brains – about the same amount as a plastic teaspoon. This is a rise of over 50% in the last 8 years.

The research also shows that people who have passed from dementia have up to 10 times more plastic in their brains.
